Anticipate
Anticipate need, challenge, change
Building a better tomorrow takes creativity, vision, dedication, and the power to anticipate.
Join us in Orlando as we explore this year’s theme—anticipate—and what it means to anticipate need, challenge, and change in architecture and design.
At its core, this event is about architecture. It’s about designing a better world and giving form to innovation and bold solutions. It’s about tapping into the collective intellect and entrepreneurial spirit of architects and design professionals who are shaping our industry. And it’s about moving our communities, our profession, and ourselves forward.
Day 1: Anticipate need
Keynoters Alejandro Aravena; Elizabeth Diller; Francis Kéré, Hon. FAIA; and Michael Murphy will explore new ways to define and solve project and community needs using thoughtful architecture as a solution and force multiplier.
Later that day, former First Lady Michelle Obama will join us for an early afternoon keynote conversation. And that’s just Day 1.
Day 2: Anticipate challenge
Keynoters Dr. Eve Edelstein, Assoc. AIA; David Delgado; and Dan Goods; moderated by Michael Bierut, will explore overcoming challenge through fresh approaches to problem-solving and creative paths to success.
Day 3: Anticipate change
We’ll bring A’17 to a powerful close on Day 3 with two final keynotes. A one-of-a-kind panel will discuss the future of architecture. The panel includes moderator Frances Anderton and panelists Nóra Demeter, Intl. Assoc. AIA; Michael Ford, Assoc. AIA; and Cheryl McAfee, FAIA;
Keynoter Amy Cuddy will explore how anticipating change can help you position your influence and lead powerful change.
This year’s event offers an unrivaled range of fast-paced, hard-hitting, provocative ideas, presentations by a diverse collection of industry leaders and visionaries, expertly curated continuing education, and an immersive exploration of what’s new and now in our industry.
